Huib Schippers to Australia
Huib Schippers, one of the main initiators of the CDIME network and a very active player in the world of cultural diversity in music education, has accepted a position as associate professor at Queensland Conservatorium at Griffith University in Brisbane, Australia.
In addition to the position of associate professor, Schippers has taken on the job as director of the research centre. In July 2004, Schippers defended his Ph.D. at the University of Amsterdam, titled
Teaching World Music in the Netherlands 1983-2003, a cross-cultural investigation into concepts, ideas and practices of music transmission in culturally diverse environments.
